TalkTalk has just pulled the rug out from underneath many of its low priced competitors with the latest voucher that is running until 21st August 2014. The £100 shopping voucher when combined with the half price deals currently running means that if you make full use of the shopping voucher you can effectively have broadband and voice line rental for £62 in the first year.
The £100 Love2Shop voucher is redeemable in various High Street stores including Argos and Boots, but is only available to those who do not need a new telephone number or new line. The Speedy Payment Discount scheme is a good way to save a further 15% on your TalkTalk bill, since by paying the bill within 24 hours of notification you save, even if you have a direct debit set-up to guarantee it is paid each month (if you pay in the 24 hour window, the direct debit is not taken that month).
Update 5:30pm The half price offer actually runs for 12 months on SimplyBroadband which reduces monthly equivalent price during the minimum period from £6.04 to £5.17 (or £10.24 to £9.37 if you pay line rental monthly).
Update 6pm 13th August We have just learnt that TalkTalk has increased the price of its Line Rental Saver option from £141 to £172.20. This increase means the monthly equivalent line rental is £14.35 if you pay the rental 12 months in advance as a lump sum. We have tweaked the monthly pricing once all the offers are accounted for and SimplyBroadband goes from £5.17 per month to £7.79.
