Free Wi-Fi to help with sharing snaps from LEGOLAND Windsor
Monday 21 July 2014 10:40:41 by Andrew Ferguson

Free Wi-Fi is now being offered to visitors at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort via The Cloud and adds to the growing number of areas where free Wi-Fi is available across the UK.

"It’s great to see Merlin Entertainments plc extending WiFi connectivity over more of its sites. Our solution allows everyone to stay online wherever they are and over the past few years, we have been working with Merlin Entertainments to help attractions like Alton Towers, the EDF Energy London Eye and Thorpe Park offer a better online experience for their guests. For LEGOLAND Windsor the benefits of the WiFi are especially clear given its multitude of online services – such as the app, the photo service provided by Picsolve and the Q-bot queuing system. All of these work perfectly over the WiFi."

Vince Russell, MD, The Cloud

The Q-bot system is designed to help reduce the amount of queuing while in the park, basically allowing you to queue virtually rather than standing in a long line getting bored. For LEGOLAND and other tourist destinations the big advantage will be the increased number of mentions on social media such as Facebook and twitter.

I hope this Q-bot system comes to other parks, it's a great idea.

I wish Sky had the option of adding cloud access for a £1 to your subscription or something instead of tacking it onto the broadband which I can't have as I need a business line at home. It doesn't apply here where The Cloud is free but its a real pain in other places where The Cloud is.
