Virgin Media adds free Netflix to its triple play bundles
Tuesday 29 April 2014 17:58:55 by Andrew Ferguson

Virgin Media has a £50 credit offer running on its Collections that ends at midnight on Wednesday and have also just added six months free access to Netflix streaming movies and TV box-sets.

The Netflix subscription is provided using a voucher given out by Virgin Media once your service has been activated and allows you to watch Netflix on the dedicated bandwidth allocated to the TiVo or on any of your other devices that can access a Netflix subscription. There is no commitment to continue the subscription, simply cancel before the end of the 6 months to avoid paying the standard £5.99 per month subscription.

The main movie streaming competition is of course Amazon Prime instant video which is £5.99 per month, or free if you have the £79 per year Amazom Prime membership. The problem for many is that you need to either juggle memberships to keep up with the latest films and exclusive TV series or pay for several each month as every streaming provider tries to create exclusives.

I got a free month when I started using Virgin Media Netflix via Tivo. Should I now get an additional 5 months? Of course not, just like Virgin Active, Virgin Media only care about new customers, not existing ones.
