EE offering free European flight with latest handset pre-orders

If you are looking at the raft of new mobile phones about to launch, then EE is offering a free European flight to those who pre-order a Sony Xperia Z2, HTC One (M8) or a Samsung Galaxy S5 before 23:59 on the 10th April 2014.

  • Sony Xperia Z2, available to pre-order now and various plans available. Handset starting at £9.99 and monthly tariffs ranging from £32.99-£49.99. Some plans include international roaming to 39 European countries.
  • HTC One (M8), pre-orders are now being taken. Upfront cost ranges from £9.99 to £249.99, and the monthly cost ranges from £32.99 to £47.99, with four tariffs offering inclusive calls in 39 EU countries.
  • Samsung Galaxy S5, the page for pre-orders should be available today or tomorrow. Pricing starts at £9.99 upfront rising to £259.99, monthly plans range from £32.99 to £49.99 per month. The recommended plan is £59.99 upfront, and £37.99 per month which gives you access to double speed 4G, 4GB data allowance and unlimited calls and texts.

For the full details of the free flight offer see this EE FAQ. The 12 destinations are Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Nice, Paris, Prague, Rome and Vienna. Flights originate from 10 UK airports and there is a choice of ten airlines. Flights must be taken before 25th February 2015 (the Christmas period is excluded).

This reminds me of the Hoover Free Flights Fiasco in the 90s. It killed Hoover, causing the European arm to be taken over by Candy.

You'd have to be pretty dumb or rich and living in a city all the time to choose EE.
