EE fixed broadband growth continues
Thursday 20 February 2014 10:09:38 by Andrew Ferguson

EE was at one stage shrinking quickly in terms of fixed line broadband, but since the launch of 4G the fixed line fortunes have started to improve, with an extra 12,000 fixed line customers added in the last quarter.

With 726,000 broadband customers they are the smallest of the big names in the fixed line market, but the 4th quarter report describes fixed broadband as rapidly becoming a more integral part of the company.

There are no figures for the number of fibre based customers utilising the GEA-FTTC products from Openreach, but they still list old fashioned dial-up with 4,000 customers. 4G is where their growth is, adding 816,000 4G customers in the last quarter to give them 1,996,000 on a 4G enabled tariff.

Good luck to those who took the plunge is all I can say. Reading online reviews it doesn't appear their service has improved any since the bad old days of Orange internet.

No complaints about their 4G/mobile offering but fixed line Broadband, I'll stay well clear thanks!

4000 dial-up custs is deceptive. We have 2 of these but never disl-up, solely for the email mailbox that comes with it.
