Those people living and working in Alderminster, Fillongley, Henley-in-Arden, Kineton, Quinton, Long Marston, Snitterfield and Welford-on-Avon look set to be likely to be able to order a FTTC based broadband service starting in Spring 2014. These communities are the first to benefit from the Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire BDUK partnership.
Some infill work will also happen in Stratford-upon-Avon and Wellesbourne where individual cabinets were missed out of the commercial roll-out. The project is aiming at a target of superfast fibre based services becoming available to 91% of premises, another 2% are expected to be able to get something that is below the definition of superfast (i.e. slower than 24 Mbps).
The project should on completion in Spring 2016 also result in every premise being able to access a minimum of 2 Mbps, and some 250 fibre cabinets are expected to be installed as the project builds on the existing commercial superfast coverage from Openreach and Virgin Media.
