Gradwell launch GigaBath to bring Bath into the 21st Century
Thursday 30 January 2014 16:44:43 by Andrew Ferguson

Bath now has the option of a full fibre Gigabit connection for £300 per month and without the expensive setup costs of the fibre on demand product from Openreach.

Gradwell who themselves are based in Bath are now selling to businesses a Gigabit FTTP connection from £300/m with a setup fee of £250. The price will vary according to the length of contract, what level of assured bandwidth is purchased and how many static IP addresses are needed. The basic service gives a guaranteed bandwidth of 5 Mbps, with extra assured bandwidth costing £100 per month per 20 Mbps increment.

The FTTP network is based on the CityFibre network in Bath which runs from the University of Bath down into central Bath. For those businesses curious to learn more there is a launch event on the 10th February at the Guildhub on the High Street. The first phase of the network is live (hence a launch event at the Guildhub where the network is available) and the remaining parts will be enabled within 3 months of securing 50 customers.

Gradwell were dire when we used them for our business line. Constant congestion very high prices.

Switched to BT Business Broadband in the end, much better speeds and consistency.
