Oftel have published some updated information regarding DSL availability and take up in the UK. The document (available here) states that BT Wholesale now have approximately 200,000 connected lines. It appears that broadband is really starting to take off with over 35,000 new connections brought online during April.
BT roll-out continues to rise, if a little slowly, to 1,015 enabled exchanges (still about 60% of all households). We have heard that the most recent upgrade is at Wisbech. These upgrades are part of the planned 100 new exchanges to be activated by the end of May. The article also states that BT are considering a further 500 exchanges which will be considered next.
