AB Internet has delivered the first of its superfast connections as part of the onlincolnshire project. The amusement park Fantasy Island in Ingoldmells is the first customer on a roll-out that will see a further 20 transmitters installed to widen the coverage area with the work due to complete in the autumn.
"High speed broadband will drastically improve the customer experience at Fantasy Island. We will be rolling out exciting new social media platforms over the next few years that would not have been possible without this. Making high speed broadband available throughout the area will bring the Lincolnshire coast into the 21st century."James Parker from Fantasy Island
The Ingoldmells area is area 1, further coverage will also appear in the Old Leake, Wrangle, Frithville, Stickney and Sibsey area. The roll-out is possible due to £300,000 of European Regional Development Funding.
The service offered by AB Internet ranges from a basic symmetric 2 Mbps service for £14.99 per month, rising to 50 Mbps download, 25 Mbps upload for £39.99 per month.
Lincolnshire has a series of 11 maps showing the before and after for broadband coverage in the county for the larger BDUK project and the areas the AB Internet service will be covering as part of its project work and the eight phases for the delivery of the BDUK work. For residents in North Lincolnshire there is also the option of using free WiFi at the various libraries across the county.
