Ofcom have announced the outcome of the final stage of the 4G mobile spectrum auction (PDF) which details the frequency bands allocated to each winning provider. The final assignments have been completed and some paid extra money to their existing bids to specify a preference of the frequency bands they would be allocated. The full details are below:

| Telefonica (O2) | 811 to 821 MHz 852 to 862 MHz |

As O2 bid for the spectrum with a coverage obligation, it was not involved in the assignment round. This results in Ofcom netting a total of £2,368,273,322 (£2.37bn) from the 4G spectrum auctions. Winning bidders have now been issued with licenses and are free to deploy 4G networks within the spectrum allocations, although there is likely to be a few months before we see services available from the newly eligible providers.
