Vispa expands footprint for its wireless broadband network
Wednesday 12 September 2012 09:26:29 by Andrew Ferguson

The Vispa fixed wireless broadband service that runs in the Warrington area, and was initially available to residents and businesses in the the Winwick and Burtonwood area has expanded to the Westbrook, Kingswood and Chapelford areas.

This expansion adds around another 4,000 properties to the service footprint, which offers a basic 10 Mbps service for £19.95 or a premium up to 60 Mbps service for £29.95 a month.

In terms of the UK broadband picture, this is one more option for people, and as ISPreview suggests it is significantly faster than the service many people have access to in the area currently.

This may be a silly question, but will Vispa rolling out in that area then afftct BT's decision to provide FTTC in 2013, as the Warrington exchange has a date of 2013 and as yet, no specific cabinets have been scheduled...
