Hyperoptic appoints former CEO of RICS as Non-Executive Director
Thursday 06 September 2012 14:26:46 by Andrew Ferguson

Hyperoptic which is known in London for providing its affordable Gigabit services via a fibre to the building roll-out, has appointed a new Non-Executive Director. The background of John ‘Louis’ Armstrong (CBE) as CEO of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RCIS) should give valuable insights into how to deal with the property industry.

"I am very excited to be joining Hyperoptic at such a pivotal stage in the company – I take great pleasure in working with young, dynamic companies to help fast-track their growth. Hyperoptic’s approach to enabling hyper-fast broadband is a unique proposition for the property sector and will undoubtedly help UK plc achieve competitiveness and economic advantage. I am really looking forward to using my experience to help Hyperoptic build the right relationships."

Combining years of experience in dealing with the construction and property developer industries should help Hyperoptic when in negotiations to install their services in existing and new developments.

The Geeks with Gigabit are very much showing what can be done in the UK, and while their ambitions are much larger than London, we also hope their example will inspire other companies with similar vision and passion for broadband across the UK to get up, get out of their office and start delivering similar services.
