Ask4 wins deal to provide Ethernet in 17 university towns
Monday 16 July 2012 09:55:41 by Andrew Ferguson

Ask4 provides superfast broadband services to flats and businesses, with speeds of 50 Mbps and 100 Mbps, as well as reselling the Digital Region service in South Yorkshire.

The coverage footprint for Ask4 looks set to expand with the deal that has just been signed with Liberty Living. The network is now set to expand to cover 16,000 student rooms across 17 university towns and cities. The Ethernet services offered to students can run at up to 100 Mbps, in most residential deployments by Ask4 the fastest package is 50 Mbps.

The expansion into other towns gives landlords of other blocks of flats in these 17 locations the opportunity to add a broadband service to their properties that will appeal to new tenants.

"ASK4 ... which has provided student internet services to two-thirds of Liberty Living’s property portfolio for the last 5 years, has signed a new multi-million pound agreement to become the first exclusive provider of IT services for all of Liberty Living’s customer needs."

That is one expensive set of leased lines...
