It would appear according to the Hull and East Riding website, that following calls from the public over data protection issues, a man was arrested on 'suspicion of causing a computer to perform a function to secure or enable unauthorised access to a program or data'. The person has been released on police bail while investigations continue into the alleged offences.
This appears to stem from the purchase of the NextGenUs operations in East Yorkshire by Connexin, and the inability of Connexin to obtain the network access codes from the collapsed NextGenUs. This has resulted in some people experiencing longer gaps in service, even though all the physical network hardware is in place.
What a truly terrible bunch NextGenUs were hopefully Connexin will turn the network into something worthwhile.
