The recent Budget set out the range of money available to ten large cities across the UK so that they can be turned into super-connected cities, with the grandiose dream of competing with the best in the Far East. "There is a digital divide (in this city). This application is unprecedented. The plan put forward would transform that — there would be no one on the margins. They would have broadband access to some of the fastest broadband in Europe.
