Bedford Borough Council has access to over £1m for broadband improvements
Thursday 19 January 2012 17:59:27 by Andrew Ferguson

The Borough Council for Bedford is the latest to announce the sum of money available for its project to improve broadband speeds in the area. Indicative funding of some £440,000 had previously been announced by the BDUK and this has been matched by local funding to create a fund of some £1m to ensure that businesses and households in the area can benefit from better broadband.

The full details of the plan are not available yet, but Bedford Borough Council is working on a joint plan with Central Bedfordshire Council and Milton Keynes Council. There is an online form for those in the area to express what their interest in getting better broadband and crucially how much they would be willing to pay for faster broadband.
