Orange have announced a price promise to home broadband and landline customers in a move that it hopes will reinforce Orange as the best value broadband and calls provider. Orange pledge to automatically lower user's monthly subscription cost should their package be available at a lower price in the future, as long as you are still within the minimum term on your package.
"We realise that times are financially hard for many and that several of our rivals are actually increasing the price of their service this New Year. So we want to reassure our customers that we'll do all we can to maintain our best value offers, and what better way than with a price commitment that really does show we mean it."Bruno Duarte, (Vice President of Home) Orange
This price promise is available to new and existing customers who subscribe to either the "Broadband and Anytime Calls" or "Broadband & Off Peak Calls" packages. Of course, the small print states that the offer only applies to the monthly rental and broadband subscription costs, so Orange could reap back any reductions if they occur through increases to call charges or other fees (such as not paying by direct debit).
Unfortunately, the price promise does not extend as far as guaranteeing that prices will not increase should the cost of the package go up rather than down.
