Vodafone reduce mobile broadband roaming charges in Europe
Monday 29 November 2010 12:04:44 by John Hunt

Vodafone have announced new roaming charges for mobile broadband usage across Europe today which will begin on the 1st of December. The new charges will offer 25MB of roaming data for £2 a day with regular travellers able to pay £10 a month. This equates to roughly 750MB of roaming data a month, although being split equally per day may not match how people typically use it. It does offer a 5 times increase over the previous 5MB limit per day.

Customers on consumer contracts costing £40 or more and with more than 900 minutes a month will benefit for the upgrade to 25MB for free, as will those on Business Essentials costing more than £35. You will need to opt-in to Vodafone Data Traveller to receive the benefits however, although it is automatic for PAYG customers. The countries where these new rates are available are as follows:

  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Czech Republic
  • France
  • Germany
  • Greece
  • Hungary
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Malta
  • Netherlands
  • Portugal
  • Romania
  • Spain
  • Switzerland

Further details are available for consumer customers and business customers.

Wish O2 would do something similar. Shame Vodafone have such poor signal in my local area else I would have moved to them. They offer a number of nice free extras O2 don't.

Lot cheaper to just buy a foreign sim abroad.
