FT.com reports that Sir Peter Bonfeld, chief executive of BT is to resign effective at the end of January 2002 having been in the position for over six years. He will leave BT with a nice golden handshake of around £1.5m depending on the company's performance over the next three years.
One of the top runners for the post, according to the Financial Times, is Dr Paul Reynolds. Currently chief executive of BT Wholesale, he probably won't be most ADSL users' favourite choice for the post although one would hope that this would raise broadband to a higher priority within the company.
