NTL sticking with existing customers

have posted that NTL are apparently to concentrate on existing customers and will seek to raise the
revenue from each customer from an average of £39/month to £46/month.
Whether this increased revenue is from price rises or pushing extra services, e.g. the NTL cable modem service to existing users is not certain at this time. This is bad news perhaps for people who
are very close to a NTL area, or currently dont have any NTL services - since it suggests that NTL may become more reluctant to lay that last 10m of cable to your house.
Whether this will have any affect on the NTL wireless trial and subsequent rollout is uncertain, but given that NTL are to shed almost a third of staff by October 2002 things dont look rosy.
