TalkTalk, the largest consumer broadband provider in the UK (now official following the completion of its acquisition of Tiscali on Monday), have announced they too will now no longer be pursuing the Phorm technology.
"We were only going to do it if BT did it and if the whole industry was doing it. We were not interested enough to do it on our own."
Charles Dunstone (CEO), Carphone Warehouse
The effect of both this and the BT announcement have driven down the share price of Phorm from 475p to 233p at yesterday's close. It is as yet unknown whether Virgin Media will continue to pursue the technology or if Phorm has lost the UK market.
well it's bounced off 190p this morning, and is struggling to keep it's mouth about £2...
