Three include free Internet in PAYG topups

Three have launched a new deal for their Pay As You Go (PAYG) customers that sees them receive 150 megabytes of free mobile Internet usage and free texts with every top up. It also includes free calls to other 3 customers, free Skype calls, free voicemail and free access to Windows Live Messenger. These free credits last for 3 months (90 days) from when you top up, even if you use up all your credit.

Existing 3 PAYG customers will also benefit from free texts and Internet access when they top up, however they may need to migrate on to the new 3Pay tariff to receive free calls to other 3 users.

"So often Pay As You Go customers are overlooked and aren't offered the same great value packages and perks as those who pay monthly. 3Pay will give customers access to a range of features that will last for 90 days, three-times longer than the other networks. In a groundbreaking move, our freebies don't stop just because a customer has used up all their credit.

We want to change mobile forever and with a network designed and built for the Mobile Internet, we can offer our Pay As You Go customers free internet and free internet calls with Skype, not just bog-standard text and talk bundles. All our Pay As You Go customers will get a 150MB mobile internet allowance. That's enough to check Bebo or Facebook over 100 times, view 200 web pages or send 1,600 twitters, every day for three months."

If you exceed your mobile broadband usage, a 30p per megabyte (MB) charge will apply, however simply topping up online with another £5 credit will grant you another 150MB of usage.

Fantastic! I already loved the top up £10 every 3 months for unlimited(pretty much) skype IM and calls, and adding free internet into the deal... awesome:D No contract, only 10 quid every 3 months.. well no contract is going to beat that! Wonder if it includes using my skypephone as a modem?

I could be wrong about this but i THINK virgin are currently doing a deal where you are only charged 30p A DAY no matter how much you use.

^^^ SOrry that should had been 30p A DAY for internet use. Free texts if you top up with £15 or more.

Also as I read it using the "free stuff" does not use up your credit so if you exceed your internet usage you could still use the £5 to buy the add-on (2GB, 1 month). 3 need to update their PDF price guide though.

@prlzx, thats right your topup is still actuall credit for you to use as you wish, i used to do exactly what you just said £5 for internet addon for when i was bored at work, wont need that now.

Its a really good deal when you and your girlfriend both have 3 payg+skype compatable handset. I spent £40-80 a month on txts/calls in past, thats now £10 every 3 months. Love it. skype on mobile phone saves us so much. Bet i sound like some fanboy now lol:p

Even on the old tariff (Flat 12) the topups don't expire so you no longer have to top up every 3 months to keep the skype stuff. I already switched and added £10 so now I can get 5 months internet and 600 texts out of that - if I don't use the credit on calls.

You need to remember that the SKYPE calls are for international calls only. I have tried UK calls and they do not connect ie SKYPE to landline. Don't know if SKYPE(UK) to SKYP(UK) work though

On 3, Skype to Skype is free whereever either party is based. Skype to landlines only works where you are calling internationally and uses your SkypeOut credit (or subscription) rather than 3 credit.
