Vodafone join the mobile broadband laptop bundlers
Thursday 18 September 2008 16:03:10 by John Hunt

Vodafone are following in the footsteps of the other mobile networks who have largely already brought out laptop and mobile broadband offers to be the first European mobile operator to offer Dell's new Inspiron Mini 9 'ultra-mobile' laptop via its retail outlets.

The laptop and mobile broadband bundle will be available from mid October and the laptop will be available without any upfront cost, although a 24 month contract does apply. Pricing has yet to be released. The Mini 9 includes a built in mobile broadband modem and comes with the relevant software installed. This is a useful feature as it negates the need for an external USB modem which sticks out the side of the laptop.

For those unfamiliar with the Mini 9, more details can be seen on the Dell website. Vodafone are offering pre-registration for notification when the offer is available online at

These mobile companies in the broadband market really need a kick to the nuts when they keep claiming these laptops are free.
