Catching up with TV shows on home computers or games consoles plugged into a home broadband network is proving popular as the viewing figures for BBC iPlayer suggest. Sony in partnership with Sky are getting closer to launching their Go!View TV service for the Sony PSP handheld console. covers the latest news, which is not much more than the original press release back in 2007 from Sony, other than to give us a date of this summer for when the service will be available.

It is thought the service will allow a Sony PSP to either download content via a PC or using its built-in Wi-Fi connection. Downloading content is ideal for people who travel a lot as it can help entertain when on trains and planes. The service is mentioned as a subscription or pay-per-view basis, but for it to be popular one presumes that subscribers to the premium packages on the Sky satellite TV service will be able to download content for free.
