Date for BTipstream S Rate-Adaptive Trial
Friday 17 August 2001 16:36:00 by Andrew Ferguson

It would appear that a date of around the end of October 2001 is planned for the Rate-Adaptive trail on the Ethernet based 500kbps service.

The trial is to be fairly short with an expected live date of the end of November 2001.

Further trial news for BTipstream S users, (i.e. Ethernet service). The planned Port Address Translation (PAT) trial has been postponed due to lack of interest, for those that dont know, it's to allow users on the NAT ethernet service to specify a single machine to receive incoming ports, e.g. port 80 for http and 25 for smtp email. A new trial is planned and a launch should follow the trail if successful. It seems either ISP's werent interested or customers havent asked about the option with their ISP's.
