Griffin launch LLU with Tiscali

Griffin Internet announced earlier in the year a partnership deal with Tiscali to provide LLU services to its channel partners. Yesterday they launched the Tiscali products, which are now available via their Managed Online Provisioning System (MOPS). This allows Griffin's partners to provision either BT IPStream or Tiscali LLU lines directly via the same platform.

At the same time the LLU Broadband gives our partners an edge and the opportunity to offer compelling but sophisticated services that were previously out of reach to this market."

The range of products launched start at under £10 per month at a 50:1 contention ratio and are available at 0.5Mbps, 1Mbps and 2Mbps speeds. Lower contended and higher speed products are expected to be launched in the future.

I hope they do better than other users of Tiscali wholesale such as Eclipse and Plusnet which appear to be less than wholly successful from the end user perspective.

Not good news for customers though. As with any externally provided LLU service when a problem arises your own ISP will absolve all responsibility and just pass the buck.

Just like at f2s where customers on the Pipex-provided LLU get 24/7 support but those on Easynet-provided LLU only get Mon-Fri 8am-7pm only.

If you can get LLU then without exception, you should choose a provider that uses its own kit like SKY, UK Online, O2 and be* where you get far more for your money.

If "channel partners" meant Channel Islands partners it wouldn't be so bad. I don't know many jersey cows with their own laptops

Griffin is a managed wholesale specialist with many hundreds of (business-only) white label partners. To ensure lines can be ordered and managed in volume we have taken nearly 12 months to deeply integrate and test the Tiscali LLU service prior to launch.

I think Tiscali would confirm that this is unprecedented. We cannot comment on the policies of other ISPs but our support team is recognised as one of the best in the business. We survey our Partners every quarter and in October Technical Support achieved a 95.3% approval rating.

Are you trying to say 95.3% are happy with Tiscali Tech support or your own support?? If that 95.3% figure is for yourselfs expect that to drop when Tiscali get involved. If the figure is supposedly for happy people with Tiscali support, all i can say is someone at Tiscali has been creative with their crayons.
