The rash of investor reports continue with tiscali being the latest. The results cover the whole gamut of Tiscali operations around Europe, and looking at the UK, Tiscali had over 2 million xDSL customers as of 30th September 2007.
Tiscali TV, which is the old HomeChoice service, had around 36,000 customers at the end of October 2007, which seems a bit lower than previous HomeChoice numbers in August 2006 that suggested around 45,000 customers. The net additions for xDSL connections to Tiscali is 638,000 since 1st January 2007, which we presume includes the various customers that Tiscali acquired with its purchase of the Pipex broadband and voice division.
The interest broadband providers are showing in IPTV is more obviously explained when you look at the ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) which stands at £40 a month for Tiscali TV customers. In terms of unbundling, Tiscali has some 800 exchanges with their own hardware installed, providing around 55% coverage.
