The DSL Forum yesterday announced latest figures based on research by Point-Topic on IPTV take-up. They indicate a 179% rise in subscribers to television/broadcast services delivered over the Internet in the year to June 2007. The research also shows that DSL remains the dominant broadband access technology with almost 66% of subscribers using DSL services.
This brings the number of users watching IPTV services to over eight million. Over the year, Europe has accounted for much of this growth overtaking the Asia Pacific region on figures for the first six months of 2006.
