Shock News - well maybe if you own a Nokia Modem
Monday 16 July 2001 23:07:00 by Andrew Ferguson

Over on The Register an article details a problem with some Nokia xDSL modems that may produce an electric shock to users.

The models affected are M/MW 11xx/51xx series, whilst not used in the BT rollout there is the chance that one or two of you out there may be using one.

The risk arises when unplugging the power cord a pin may break off and stay in the plug, making it possible for the pin to be touched.

Users with affected modems are requested to return them to a local service centre, where if a fault is found it will be fixed for free.
