France Telecom fined
Wednesday 31 January 2007 08:47:48 by Andrew Ferguson

The EU courts have come down hard on France Telecom after deciding the French telco has abused its dominant position in the residential market, with the end result being a 10.35 million Euro fine. Details can be read over at

It seems the fine has been levied due to Wanadoo charging its customers a price for their connection that did not cover the actual cost of the service. A key point of the prices charged was that it was judged to be part of a plan to pre-empt a market during its development phase.
