September 2006 brought the news that 850,000 lines had been unbundled. The October update from the Office of the Telecommunications Adjudicator, shows that in the next few days we are going to have one million unbundled lines. The report can be found at www.offta.org.uk.
One area where unbundling has been failing is getting people connected right the first time by Openreach, this has improved rising from 78% to 81% which is a move in the right direction. If this improvement can be sustained and built on to get a lot closer to the 98% target by the end of 2006 that should herald a much smoother 2007.
