The broadband market has been consolidating for some time at every level. AOL has already made it clear it is looking to sell its UK business and currently according to reports on TheRegister and Times Online, both Tiscali and AOL are looking to close deals. Indications are that Carphone Warehouse and BSkyB are among the forefront to bid for AOL.
It has commonly been reported that industry watchers expect there to be a handful of large providers in the broadband marketplace, which poses smaller ISPs an interesting challenge of trying to provide different niche services, or gear up for mergers.
