AOL thinking about exiting Europe
Monday 05 June 2006 11:41:00 by Andrew Ferguson

AOL with something like 1.2 million broadband connections in the UK is one of the large players, and if the rumours are correct AOL are looking for someone to buy the business. This follows on from reports that AOL is looking to leave the French and German markets also. More details on this can be read over at LightReading.com.

It appears that AOL maybe looking to move away from providing the physical broadband connection, and more into its traditional areas of online portals. The current AOL TV advertising perhaps gives some hint to what is happening, since these are pushing online discussion forums of various topics, and we are lead to believe that AOL has a large number of discussion boards planned covering everything from motoring to homes and property.
