Fourteen business parks in North Wales look like they may benefit from the creation of a fibre network linking all the parks. The Welsh Development Agency (WDA)has plans to create an open, carrier-neutral network that services providers can then utilise to provide broadband to business users on the parks.
The scheme has had tacit approval from the European Commission, with the commission deciding that EU state aid rules will not be breached. The final decision on whether to go ahead with the FibreSpeed Wales plan will be announced later in the year. For more information on the project visit the FibreSpeed pages on the WDA website.
