NTL increases its offer for Virgin Mobile
Monday 16 January 2006 21:57:00 by Andrew Ferguson

NTL had previously made an offer of £871 million for Virgin Mobile, this was rejected. NTL has now put a revised bid on the table of £961 million. More information on the bid can be found over at BBC News Online.

If this offer is accepted, then NTL looks set to become a very powerful player in the UK Media/Telecommunications market. Over the Christmas 2005 break, the Office of Fair Trading approved the takeover of Telewest by NTL. This growth in NTL means it can start to challenge companies like Sky and BT.
