Friday 13 January 2006 10:47:00 by Andrew Ferguson

Carphone Warehouse who has been expanding rapidly with the acquisition of OneTel and Tele2 customers recently, looks set to spend £45 million over a three year period on gaining a foothold in the local loop unbundling section.

Carphone Warehouse has not been a name to spring to mind in respect to broadband and ADSL as yet, but LLU offers a telephone company the ability to provide its own telephone service and if they want a DSL service also. Just how far £45 million will take you in the LLU market we will find out later in 2006 once full details are released. More details on The Register.
