ISPA Annual Charity Cup 2005

The Internet Services Providers' Association (ISPA UK) has raised £5,250 for charity by organising a 5-a-side football event with 21 teams from 20 companies competing. The teams included, Wanadoo, Ofcom, AOL and Yahoo! among several others. The AOL team took the honours of winning this year's competition.

“The ISPA Charity Cup in association with is a great way to support three such deserving charities. The support for the event is testimony to the commitment of the ‘net industry in making the Internet a safer place for children and more accessible for all. The inaugural Charity Cup is another fun event for ISPA members in the run-up to The 2006 ISPAs – the 8th Annual UK Internet Industry Awards - in February 2006.”

The money raised will benefit the following three charities:

Childnet International (, a non-profit organisation working to make the Internet a safe place for children.

The British Liver Trust (, which advocates on behalf of those suffering from liver disease and funds medical research on the causes and treatments for the disease.

Computer Aid International (, the world’s largest non-profit supplier of computers to developing countries.
