It was reported earlier this week that Carphone Warehouse were looking into a LLU roll-out, and today sees this confirmed with details over on The Register.
The roll-out is to be carried out by the companies telco arm in the guise of Opal, and it seems the plan is to start a roll-out in 2006, and possibly over a three year period roll-out a service to around 1000 of BT's 5,500 telephone exchanges.
The service is described as fully unbundled, which means the telephone part of the phone line will also be unbundled and handled by Carphone Warehouse. Currently Bulldog are the only other provider to use the fully unbundled option on a consumer range product.
