£20m broadband scheme for Cumbria about to start
Wednesday 26 October 2005 10:17:00 by Andrew Ferguson

The Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) has a £20 million project called Project ACCESS that is set to start this week. The aim of the project is to improve coverage to around 95% of Cumbria and North Lancashire. We assume the coverage means 95% of households and businesses in the area.

There is an event this week at the Rheged Centre running from 10:30am to 12:30pm on Thursday October 27th 2005, where public and private sector organisations will be able to find out how broadband could benefit their business. The infrastructure for this project is in place, and Hugh Logan of Your Communications who are implementing the service will be at the meeting.More details over on Cumbria-Online.
