Telewest rolling out its 10Mbps upgrades in Scotland first
Friday 23 September 2005 14:04:00 by Andrew Ferguson

For once the fastest speeds are not coming first to London, but the Telewest upgrades to 10Mbps are starting in Motherwell, Dumbarton, Castlecary and Uddingston, and are the second round of speed upgrades within 12 months.

The initial round of Scottish updates will see 40,000 customers experiencing the joys of an up to 10Mbps connection on the blueyonder elite service. Customers previously on the 2 and 4Mbps Telewest products will see speeds of up to 10Mbps for the same monthly fee of £35. The old 0.5Mbps users will be boosted to 2Mbps, and 1Mbps users to 4Mbps. All the products will remain free of any usage restrictions.

All the upgrades in Scotland are expected to be finished by the end of October 2005, and around 100,000 customers in London should see their speed boosted by the end of September 2005. Details of the upgrades can be found at www.blueyonder.co.uk/evenfaster.
