BT Retail takes it Basic product up to 2Mbps
Wednesday 20 July 2005 09:52:00 by Andrew Ferguson

BT Retail has announced that it is to upgrade the speed of service for existing customers on its BT Broadband Basic service, and offer 2Mbps to new customers. Earlier in 2005, BT Retail announced that its Yahoo! and BT Broadband products were to have a similar upgrade.

The BT Broadband Basic product will remain at its standard price of £17.99 per month with a 1GB usage allowance. Though there are often special offers that see the monthly fee reduced. The 1GB allowance can be extended by purchasing extra allowance, BT estimate that 1GB should allow most people to surf the web for around 2 hours per day.
