KT Corp in South Korea to adopt PAYG model for broadband
Friday 08 July 2005 16:18:00 by Andrew Ferguson

Many people have viewed the broadband environment that exists in South Korea with great envy, but it seems perhaps the tide is turning. KT Corp would appear to be about to about to adopt a Pay As You Go model for its broadband services. More detail over at YONHAP News.

It seems this would appear to be a response to a recent move to name the teleco as a dominant market player, and remove its freedom to raise or lower its broadband rates at will. Perhaps it is viewed that by moving to a PAYG model, it will increase its revenue, particularly from the customers who make significant use of the system.
