Monday 23 May 2005 04:35:00 by Andrew Ferguson

Telabria has issued a press release, announcing a relationship with the University of Kent who are based in Canterbury. This relationship is designed to allow Telabria and the University to develop best practices for designing and deploying 802.16d standard wireless networks, which is often known as WiMAX.

An initial 90 day long trial is going to see WiMAX deployed to serve small/home offices (SOHO) and small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Canterbury area. WiMAX offers up to 45Mbps symmetric broadband speeds, and in its point to point mode can cover ranges of 15 miles.
