ISPA believes in equality of access without separation of BT
Monday 25 April 2005 09:15:00 by Andrew Ferguson

Should BT be split up, and different divisions made to operate like totally independent companies? This is a question that Ofcom is looking into, and is due to report back on in June 2005. The Internet Services Providers' Association (ISPA UK) met with Ofcom on the 13th April 2005, to discuss its point of view, and also talk through ISPA's concerns following BT's Phase Two response to the Strategic Review of Telecoms.

The full press release can be read here. The ISPA believe that the onus is on BT to prove it is serious about equivalence by ensuring equal access at the product level. The ISPA also calls for BT to be more open and transparent to address fears within the industry that BT may abuse its position.
