Fujitsu Given Queen's Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2005

Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe have announced that they have been awarded the prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2005. The award is for the GeoStream Access Gateway technology which is currently used to supply broadband to over 3 million homes and businesses in the UK. In short, this is an award for the range of DSLAMs Fujitsu sell in the UK.

What many people will not know is that the GeoStream products are designed and manufactured in Birmingham, with the company's Birmingham-based engineering facilities representing the global centre of Broadband product excellence for the entire Fujitsu group. The platform is capable of a lot more than is generally seen by people, as well as ADSL for Internet access, video-on-demand services and Voice over IP services are possible. The platform also supports a wide range of protocols, e.g. ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+, SDSL, VDSL, Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, PON, WiMAX and SDH.
