Probable fix for Win2k Dual CPU Problems
Friday 13 April 2001 11:22:00 by Andrew Ferguson

It appears that using a Belkin 2 port PCI to USB adapter card fixes the problem of the USB modem crashing in Windows 2000 dual CPU machines.

Certainly people are now able to perform large downloads while both CPU's are enabled.

See the SMP Thread in Technical Issues forum.

For those desperate to try this out over the Easter weekend, I believe that PC World do stock the Belkin PCI-USB card at around £30.
