Monday 29 November 2004 18:52:00 by Andrew Ferguson

Some good news for people whose exchanges have missed out on the standard BT Wholesale ADSL roll-out, the European Commission has approved public funding for two broadband projects. The areas affected are Scotland and the East Midlands. The EU press release can be found here.

The East Midlands project via Northamptonshire Partnership, will have funding of up to £1.9 million, and will involve a contract with BT Wholesale to enable eight exchanges across the East Midlands region. Four are in Northamptonshire: Cotterstock, Bulwick, Benefield and Dingley. Details are on the Northamptonshire Partnership website.
