Tuesday 16 November 2004 11:39:00 by Andrew Ferguson

After the big headlines of 4Mbps cable broadband services, Telewest are now following up with the news that the last remaining analogue part of their network in the North West is to be upgraded to support their digital platform.

The upgrade covers 132,000 homes in the Chorley, Preston and Liverpool areas, and will start in November 2004, and carry on until July 2005. More details on the upgrade can be found at The upgrade will allow customers in that area to finally receive the Telewest cable broadband service, and a much larger channel selection on the TV service.
