Higher bandwidth content possibly on way from the BBC
Tuesday 09 November 2004 14:27:00 by Andrew Ferguson

Keith Little, head of IT at the BBC is now talking up the content providers side of the broadband equation, by calling on content providers to now provide the content that can exploit the 1Mbps and faster connections home users can obtain for a reasonable price. More details on ZDNet.

It would appear that the BBC who has been expanding its BBCi broadband content for some time, is set to go one more big step. This is to allow people to view all BBC content for up to 14 days after transmission over the Internet. In effect this would give large amounts of Video on Demand content to anyone with a broadband connection in the UK that is fast enough to stream at a decent bit rate.
