BT Openzone access for just £1 a month
Monday 01 November 2004 17:49:00 by Andrew Ferguson

BT is obviously keen to increase the level of use of its BT Openzones network. BT are now offering to new and existing broadband customers of the BT Retail ISP services, access to BT OpenZones Wi-Fi network for £1 a month.

The £1 deal buys you 500 minutes of access time, and runs at £1/month for the first three months, rising to £5/month for the next 9 months. If after trying out the service, people are free to cancel, so long as it is in the first three months. Unfortunately the offer only applies to those who have not used BT Openzones before. For all the details and conditions see the full BT press release located here. The pricing would appear to be excluding VAT, and if you go over the 500 minutes in a month, it is 10p per minute.

In the run up to Christmas and during the January sales, this offer is likely to prove popular, as people can use the service to compare prices in the high street with online retailers, thus ensuring the best bargains. There are over 7,000 BT Openzone hotspots, so to check if there is one near you visit www.btopenzone.com/locations.
